Dr. Barry K. Herman, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Barry K. Herman serves as Chief Medical Officer at Mentavi Health, overseeing all clinical service offerings and advancing evidence-based mental health care nationwide. He is committed to creating a performance and measurement culture grounded in clinical practice, and to Mentavi Health’s mission of improving access and affordability for everyone seeking mental health diagnosis and treatment. A dual board-certified psychiatrist with more than 30 years of leadership experience across managed care, pharmaceuticals, and digital health, Dr. Herman is a thought leader in the field and a recipient of two of the American Psychiatric Association’s top leadership awards. He is the author of over 100 scientific publications and abstracts. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from Clark University, M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine, a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Stanford University, and a Master of Medical Management (MMM) from Tulane University.

A seasoned leader with decades of experience in health care innovation and technology, he has built nationally recognized teams and digital platforms that enhance patient outcomes and strengthen provider relationships. His leadership at Mentavi champions a human-first approach to online health care delivery, ensuring Mentavi’s digital journey enhances the patient-provider relationship while delivering timely, clinically credible support. These values shape the company’s role as a trusted partner to patients and health care systems. Previously, he launched a Medicare-focused innovation lab at a payor system, served as CEO of a Medicaid-focused digital care company and State Director of the Michigan Small Business Development Center, among other endeavors. A former Ernst & Young Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year, Keith is also a frequent speaker on digital transformation, AI, and the future of care. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Information Systems from Strayer University.
