Therapy focused on understanding, not just coping

When anxiety, depression, ADHD, or familiar patterns keep repeating, it can feel exhausting to manage on your own. Therapy offers space to understand what’s driving it.

Therapy grounded in clinical clarity

Therapy at Mentavi begins with a Diagnostic Evaluation. Your evaluation is reviewed by a licensed clinical psychologist who assesses clinical context across up to 29 mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD, to determine warranted diagnoses and recommend next steps.

Your therapist receives a structured report outlining those findings, giving them a clear picture of your history, patterns, and concerns before your first session. With that foundation in place, therapy can focus on active treatment goals rather than extended intake.

How do I get started with therapy?

If you’re new here:

You’ll need to complete the clinically validated Mentavi Diagnostic Evaluation first.

Already completed your evaluation?

Therapy is currently available in over 40 states§. Check availability in your state using our chat. Then, log in to schedule your therapy session.

Your sessions focus on what matters most to you

Therapy centers on the concerns and patterns that brought you here.

Because your psychologist reviews your evaluation in advance, your first session begins with shared context. You won’t spend the entire appointment retelling your history. You can start with clarity, direction, and meaningful work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the Diagnostic Evaluation first?

Yes. Therapy is available to adults 18+ who have completed the Mentavi Diagnostic Evaluation. This allows your psychologist to begin care with an appropriate clinical context and a structured treatment plan.

Why doctorate-level psychologists instead of other therapists?

Doctorate-level psychologists (PhD or PsyD) typically complete 5–7 years of advanced graduate training beyond a bachelor’s degree, including extensive clinical internships and research. Doctorate-level psychologists bring additional clinical depth, particularly important for complex or co-occurring conditions.

Can my therapist prescribe medication?

No. Mentavi psychologists do not prescribe medication. If medication is recommended, you may work with our medical treatment team separately.

What therapeutic approaches do you use?

Our psychologists use established clinical approaches tailored to your diagnosis and goals. Common approaches include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Often used for anxiety, depression, and ADHD-related challenges
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Helpful for chronic anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation
  • Psychodynamic therapy: Explores how past experiences influence current patterns
  • ADHD-informed approaches: Strategies tailored to executive function challenges
Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept insurance directly. Therapy sessions may be HSA/FSA eligible, and you can submit receipts to your insurance plan for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Check with your plan to confirm your mental health benefits.
